Award-winning laboratory equipment
Be it for the strength of its innovation, the quality of its design, its global sense of responsibility or its commitment to the region – IKA regularly receives awards for its outstanding performance. Entrepreneurial courage, dynamic processes and communication-readiness justify these successes. They show us that commitment and perseverance always pay dividends!
German Design Award 2020 for IKA PETTE
The new IKA PETTE fix and vario pipettes, available in a total of 18 different models, have been awarded the German Design Award 2020 for outstanding design quality. The design committee recognized the laboratory classic in the category “Excellent Product Design – Industry”.
The ingenious ergonomic design of the new PETTE not only looks good, it also proves to be effective, particularly where frequent pipetting is required in the laboratory. Three interchangeable ergonomic grips are included with the PETTE, because each hand is shaped differently. In addition, the large mechanical volume display contributes to the specialties of the design. It is easy to read, even when pipetting.
Innovative power and economic success
Research carried out by the University of St. Gallen have been placing IKA in the global market leader index for years. Our company is also entitled to display the WirtschaftsWoche seal once again in 2020. IKA has also been honored for its innovativeness time and again. We have been included among the most innovative companies in Germany already three times, as honored by the TOP 100 panel and mentor Ranga Yogeshwar. In 2015, IKA even managed to jump up to 2nd place in the class of companies with more than 250 employees. At the ACHEMA Innovation Awards in Frankfurt am Main, IKA shortlisted for the ElectraSyn 2.0, the pioneering product in electrochemistry.
Design strength and user-friendliness
The fact that an appealing and convenient design plays a central role at IKA has also been regularly honored. Be it the Red Dot Design Award or the German Design Award, IKA products always impress with their particularly successful user-friendly design. The coveted Red Dot Award was received in 2013 for the Tube Mill control batch mill and the LR 1000 laboratory reactor, and, in 2018, for the world’s first ElectraSyn 2.0, a device for electrochemical synthesis. The UTTD control disperser was awarded a “special mention” by the German Design Council in 2014. Almost every year since then, IKA has been honored with design awards. In 2018, IKA T 25 easy clean, a high-performance disperser, received the German Design Award as a technical world innovation.
In 2013, the Oskar Patzelt Foundation awarded IKA the “Grand Prix of Medium-Sized Companies”: In the regional competition Baden-Wuerttemberg, IKA came first place in the Industry category. In the same year, we received the Medium-Sized Company prize for social responsibility in Baden-Wuerttemberg, for our particular involvement with the aid project HANDS FOR CHILDREN, which we initiated.
